3 Health Tips for Working Remotely from an Employment Agency in Tualatin, OR

Many people dream of having a job where they can work at home on the couch, wearing pajamas. The appeal of remote working rests in the amount of freedom it brings: flexible hours, no dress code, a comfy workspace, and much more. However, one of the freedoms that can be tricky to manage is the freedom of total access to the fridge. Especially when work gets tedious or boring, the few steps it takes to get to the kitchen can be tempting to take over and over again. This can lead to weight gain and an unhealthy lifestyle. Here are 3 tips for remaining healthy while working from home from a staffing agency in Tualatin, OR.

  1. Create a Routine and Stick to it
Working in an office usually results in an automatic set schedule. There is a certain time you must wake up, eat breakfast, and get ready in order to arrive at work on time. Once you’re in the office, there are certain tasks you must do at certain times in order to ensure the proper flow throughout the day. When you work from home, this isn’t always the case. It is so easy to fall into the routine of having no routine, which can lead to laziness and ceasing to do the healthy things you used to do. The best way to combat this is to create a routine for yourself and stick to it! When you physically follow a routine, you will mentally follow it too. When you create this routine, add a set time for exercise. For example, you could allow 30 minutes for jogging right after you are done working for the day. Once you’ve done this for a couple of weeks, it will become a habit and your body will look forward to exercising after a day of sitting.

  1. Prepare Healthy Snacks
For exercise to show its full set of benefits, you must pair it with a healthy diet. When your fridge access is astronomical, this can be difficult. One of the ways to deal with this is to prepare healthy snacks for yourself before you start your workday. This can include chopped up “snacky” veggies, such as carrots and cucumbers, or homemade energy bites. With quick access to healthy snacks, you will be discouraged from constantly dipping into the chip drawer.

  1. Keep Track of Your Calories
The words “count calories” have a bad connotation to some people. This is because counting calories has a tendency to cause an obsession with eating an exact amount of food each day, which is not typically healthy or helpful. However, this third tip in maintaining your health while working from home is simply meant to help you figure out where your problem spots are. You only need to count your calories for about a week or so to see where the majority of your excess calories are coming from. Remember, little snacks and bites add up!
